What is LED (Light Emitting Diode)?

A light-emitting diode (LED) is a semiconductor device that emits visible light when an electric current passes through it. The light is not very bright, but it is intense enough to be used as a signal or indicator light. LEDs are used in a wide variety of electronic devices, including televisions, computers, and radios. They are also used in projects such as lighting and plant growth experiments.
