We love Borderlands the video game, but as each title gets new characters we continue to find a never ending love for Claptrap. Claptrap is a robot who is always cheerful, despite the odds. We came across this little being when we got a great deal on Borderlands Ultimate pack and had hoped to start playing the other versions on some of the game streaming services but that was just not meant to be.
But let’s get back to why we love this little bot buddy. He’s also helpful, offering advice and information to the player when they need it. He’s also one of the most entertaining characters in the game, with his constant jokes and puns. But we just stumbled across this video that really opened our eyes, and our hearts, to this little robot who just really wanted to find a friend.
So stick with us as we go through our top 3 reasons why we LOVE this little robot… even if he can’t go up stairs.
1: his humor
Claptrap is the best character in Borderlands because of his humor as he just always has something to say. He is always making jokes and his voice is just so funny. No matter what mission you are on, or what disaster you are trying to avoid he always has a one liner ready to rock. And here is a compilation of his best one liners from Borderlands 2
2: his lovable innocence
In the world of video games, there are few characters more beloved than Claptrap from the Borderlands series. And for a robot this guy has one big heart… or whatever robots have to create the loving words they create. Though he may be a little annoying at times, his lovable innocence and childlike wonder endear him to fans worldwide. In one of the most touching moments in video games meeting reality they had Claptrap provide a eulogy for a fan of the series, which is so touching on so many levels.
This is more of a testament to the team that makes borderlands and their community but it is something that we need to see more of in this world. Not just video game aspects just about respect and sharing positive recognition of people. Times are tough for a lot of people, but someones passing can help to put it into perspective that it can always be worse. 3: his never-give-up attitude
Claptrap almost never gives up.. and we say almost because we have already alluded to the one thing that he can’t conquer…. but we will get to that in a second. Let’s look at how his never surrender atitude has helped the team on all their missions.
For starters, Claptrap is always upbeat and optimistic, no matter what the situation. He’s also fiercely loyal to his friends and allies, and he’s always ready to help out however he can.
But what really sets Claptrap apart is his never-give-up attitude. No matter how hopeless a situation may seem, Claptrap will always find a way to keep going. This determination is what makes him such an inspiring and endearing character.

So if you’re ever feeling down or out of luck, remember Claptrap and his never-give-up attitude. He’ll remind you that anything is possible if you just keep fighting for it.

Without this little buddy around we can say without a doubt Borderlands would not be anywhere close to as successful as it has been. He adds light when things are at its darkest. He adds humor when the time usually isn’t right, but when it is needed. And best of all he just tries to make the world better and the people around him happy.
It’s no wonder that Claptrap is one of the most popular characters in the Borderlands series. He brings levity and charm to an otherwise dark and gritty world.
